Minister of state Aviation, Hadi Sirika says Nigeria is implementing a robust Roadmap which involves infrastructural upgrade, provision of new critical infrastructure and regulatory reforms.
Speaking at the 59th Airport Council International Conference, ACI in Lagos with the Theme: Business Transformation for Sustainable Development of African Airports, the minister said the full implementation of the Roadmap would go a long way to further improve efficiency, service standards and contribute to the on-going diversification of the nation’s economic base as well as reduce capital flight.
To this end, he said,” Nigeria is intensifying its efforts to improve aviation infrastructure for safety, security and economic sustainability of the sector”.
Sirika noted that in drawing up the Roadmap, wide consultation was sort from within and outside the country which include the ACI in the area of airport concession.
“As you may recall, as part of the consultation process, we undertook during the development of our roadmap, we had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Angela Gittens Director-General, ACI to seek for advice and input into the roadmap especially in the area of airport concession”.

The minister the aviation industry in Nigeria looked forward to greater collaboration as the Government takes steps to reposition the sector for better service delivery.
He assured that Nigeria,”will continue to cooperate and collaborate with member states to further improve the Aviation Industry in Africa”.
Sirika expressed joy that the ACI conference was being hosted shortly after the successful hosting of the International Civil Aviation Organization Aviation Forum, IWAF and the International Symposium on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, RPAS, describing it as, ” a clear indication of Nigeria’s fast rising profile in global aviation”.
