In a significant move to bolster the nation’s maritime capabilities, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has initiated a collaborative partnership with the Nigerian Naval Dockyard.
The partnership, aimed at fostering innovation and development in the marine engineering sector, aligns with the government’s ambitious Blue Economy agenda.
During a recent visit to the Dockyard in Lagos, the NSE President, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, underscored the critical role of engineers in driving Nigeria’s maritime progress.
Represented by Vice President, Corporate Services, Engr. Dr. Felicia Nnenna Agubata, FNSE, the NSE delegation emphasized the strategic importance of the Dockyard in national development.

The partnership will focus on several key areas, including:
Youth Development: Creating opportunities for young engineers to participate in marine vessel design, renewable marine energy technologies, and collaborative innovation projects with the Dockyard.
Infrastructure Development: Collaborating on projects to enhance the Dockyard’s capabilities and capacity to support Nigeria’s maritime industry.
Research and Development: Fostering research and development initiatives to explore new technologies and solutions for the maritime sector.
The leadership of the Nigerian Naval Dockyard expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the mutual benefits it will bring to both organizations and the nation as a whole.
