NSE Abeokuta Branch Elects New Exco Members as Engr. Olumayowa Idowu Emerges Chairman

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Abeokuta Branch has announced the results of its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. 

The meeting saw the election of a new executive council, led by Engr. Olumayowa Idowu, FNSE, as the new Chairman.

In the history of the NSE Abeokuta Branch, Engr. Idowu is the youngest to serve in this capacity.

In his acceptance speech, Engr. Idowu expressed his commitment to rebuilding the NSE Abeokuta Branch, focusing on professional development, member welfare, intergovernmental and industry collaborations, advocacy, improved community impact, and enhanced publicity. 

He emphasized the importance of taking the right path to achieve greatness, quoting American President Franklin Roosevelt, “There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still.”

The new executive council includes Engr. Dr. Adekunle Musa, FNSE, as Vice Chairman, Engr. Dr. Abolaji Ilori as General Secretary, Engr. Ayomide Esther Bello as Assistant General Secretary and  Engr. Ismail Adeyemi as Technical Secretary and Engr. Olusina Agbaje as Assistant Technical Secretary. 

Other elected members include Engr. Gbenga Osungboye as Treasurer, Engr. Adegoke Adewale as Financial Secretary, Engr. Solomon Ogbaje as Publicity Secretary, Engr. Bukola Olodeokuta as Assistant Publicity Secretary, Engr. Toyin Oyeneye as Internal Auditor, Engr. Dr. Grace Amusan as Ex-Officio, and Engr. Ismail Adenuga, FNSE, as Immediate Past Chairman.

The AGM also provided an opportunity to appreciate the outgoing executives, led by Engr. Ismail Adenuga, FNSE, who served the Branch meritoriously during their period of stewardship. The ceremonial inauguration of the new executive council will be held at a later date.

The Nigerian Society of Engineers Abeokuta Branch is one of the 12 branches of the NSE, and this election marks a significant milestone in the history of the organization. 

The new executive council is poised to take the Branch to greater heights, focusing on the development of its members and the community at large.
