The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed industry veteran, Basil Agboarumi, as the Chairman of the Management Committee for its newly established Aviation Hub.
The appointment, approved by the NIPR Governing Council at its 115th meeting, recognizes Agboarumi’s extensive experience in the aviation sector.
As a former Managing Director of Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC and Executive Director of Corporate and Governmental Affairs at SIFAX Group, he brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills to the role.
The NIPR Aviation Hub, a new enterprise, will focus on driving excellence and promoting the role of public relations in the aviation industry. The Management Committee, comprising 5-7 members, will be responsible for overseeing the hub’s operations.
Dr. Ike Neliaku, National President of NIPR, presided over the virtual inauguration of the Management Committee on August 29, 2024.
Other appointees to lead the newly created hubs include Dr. Jossy Nkwocha (Energy), Mr. Rasheed Bolarinwa (Finance), Mrs. Thelma Okoh (Maritime), Dr. Ahmad Sajoh (Anti-Corruption and Consumer Protection), and Miss Chimdi Neliaku (Young Practitioners).
With Agboarumi at the helm, the NIPR Aviation Hub is poised to make a significant contribution to the growth and development of the aviation industry in Nigeria.
