The Nigerian meteorological Agency, NiMET, has clinched the Most Impactful Agency of the year award 2021.
The award ceremony organized by Air Transport Quarterly Magazine, ATQ in Lagos is to honour individuals and organizations for their immense contributions to the growth, safety and development of the industry.

Receiving the award, the Director General NiMET, Prof. Mansur Matazu thanked the media for their immerse support in projecting the activities of the agency and its achievements since he became the DG.
According to him, the media has helped in explaining to the public what their duties are as it relates to weather forecast for the various sectors of the economy.
“I have been teaching throughout my life people see meteorology as abstract but it is the media platforms that normally makes people understand weather and then the impact and services that we provide. I want to seize this opportunity to also appreciate all the media for all the support you have been giving us”.
“We have 55 offices, 6 zonal offices but our services cover more than over 200 million citizens of this country and you provide the platform”.
He added, “Since my coming, I tried as much as possible to align with the ministerial mission, vision and the roadmap, the 7th component of the roadmap”.
While thanking the organizer of the award, Prof. Matazu said, this will propel them to do more and promised to discharge their duties creditably.
