….moves 70.5% to 75.5%.

A significant boost to Nigeria’s aviation industry has been achieved following the implementation of the Irrevocable De-registration and Export Request Authorization (IDERA) rules.

This crucial step has propelled the country’s global aviation compliance score, placing it firmly in the ‘high category’ of the Cape Town Convention (CTC) Compliance Index.

The Aviation Working Group (AWG) announced the positive development yesterday, confirming that Nigeria’s score has jumped from 70.5% to 75.5%.

This achievement marks a major milestone for the country, as it has officially been removed from the AWG’s watchlist of non-compliant nations.

In a communication to Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, the AWG expressed its satisfaction with the progress made.

The signing of the IDERA, they stated, completes Nigeria’s compliance process, unlocking a wealth of opportunities for the aviation sector.

This landmark development is expected to have a profound impact on the country’s airlines.

By facilitating aircraft financing and dry-leasing, Nigerian operators will gain greater access to global leasing markets.

This, in turn, will lead to increased flight regularity, expanded route networks, and more competitive ticket prices, ultimately benefiting the Nigerian public.

Attached is the official communication from the AWG to Minister Festus Keyamo SAN, confirming Nigeria’s compliance status.
