Two Nigerian airports have been lauded for their outstanding contributions to airport emergency management and resilience.
The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and the Port Harcourt International Airport received prestigious awards from the Airport Council International (ACI) Africa during the organization’s 33rd Annual General Assembly in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The awards according to a statement, were bestowed upon the airports in recognition of their exceptional dedication to ensuring the safety and security of passengers and staff, even in the face of unforeseen challenges.
The plaques were presented by ACI Africa Secretary-General, Ali Tounsi, and President, Emmanuel Chaves.
The statement notes, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, was instrumental in driving the airports towards achieving this recognition.
His leadership and commitment to enhancing aviation safety and security have played a pivotal role in the airports’ success.
