The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the growth of the aviation industry and social responsibility.

This pledge was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, during a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Aviation Award, NiGAV, Mr. Fortune Idu, and representatives of the SOS Children’s Village in Abuja.

Dr. Kana described the unity among airline operators as a positive development that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also expressed the Ministry’s support for the King and Queen of the Air contest, which aims to promote excellence and unity across the industry.

The Nigeria Aviation Award, which has been contributing to aviation development for 25 years, uses the contest to celebrate cabin crew excellence and enhance the passenger experience.

The newly crowned King and Queen of the Air for 2025, Henry Chika and Aisha Yakub, have pledged to support children at the SOS Village with part of their entitlements.

The SOS Children’s Villages, which has been operating in Nigeria since 1973, welcomed the partnership with the aviation sector, which will help them reach more vulnerable children.

The Ministry’s support for such initiatives demonstrates its commitment to promoting social responsibility and growing the aviation industry.

The meeting reaffirms the Ministry’s efforts to foster collaboration and support initiatives that benefit both the aviation industry and the wider community.

By supporting the King and Queen of the Air contest and partnering with organizations like SOS Children’s Villages, the Ministry aims to promote excellence, unity, and social responsibility across the industry.
