The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) wants airlines to promptly share information regarding flight disruptions, aiming to empower passengers in making well-informed travel decisions.
This is because of recent flight disturbances causing inconvenience to air travelers.
Micheal Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, in a statement, expressed empathy for affected passengers and acknowledged the challenges they face.
He emphasized the comprehensive oversight of operations, with Consumer Protection Officers actively supervising passenger handling procedures to ensure compliance with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 Part 19.
The statement highlights the oversight’s goal, which is to minimize inconveniences by ensuring that airlines offer care, refreshments, and other suitable alternatives to passengers affected by disruptions.
