….Asserts Integrity Amidst Challenges

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has declared its unwavering stance against blackmail and threats of any nature.

The regulatory body revealed that it has been targeted by various groups posing as Perception Managers and Influence Groups following the publication of an article by an online platform.

According to Mr. Micheal Achimugu, spokesperson for the NCAA, these attempts are clearly orchestrated to serve the interests of certain power-seekers.

He said in a statement that, the agency, under the leadership of the Acting Director General Capt. Chris Najomo, vows to respond robustly to any further attempts to disrupt its operations.

While acknowledging genuine inquiries from Civil Society Organisations regarding recent controversies, the NCAA reaffirmed its commitment to transparency.

It maintained that no procurement rules have been violated in the alleged purchase of vehicles, as clarified in a press conference held on April 29, 2024.

Challenging those making accusations to provide evidence, the spokesperson warned of legal action against blackmailers seeking financial gain through defamation tactics.

The NCAA stressed that, it remained steadfast in its mission to uphold safety and economic regulations within the aviation sector.

Acknowledging the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, the NCAA expressed gratitude for their commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s aviation industry.

Additionally, the agency appreciated the backing of its staff and unions, who recently expressed confidence in the current management.

The regulatory agency reaffirmed its dedication to its mandate, asserting that neither the agency nor Capt. Chris Najomo will be deterred by false accusations or blackmail attempts.
