The Ministry of aviation has reiterated that the certification of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, was carried out by the Nigerian Civil Aviation authority (NCAA) and not the International Civil Aviation organisation (ICAO).
In a statement the Deputy Director, Press and Public Affairs, James Odaudu, said the exercise certification which are milestones in the nation’s aviation industry was the hand work of the NCAA.
He added, “However it is pertinent to clarify that the exercises were carried out by the Nigerian Civil Aviation authority (NCAA) and not the International Civil Aviation organisation (ICAO
“The certification of the two airports was implemented by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in line with Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (NCARS) Part 12, ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and provisions of Annex 14”.
He stressed that the Ministry expressed absolute confidence in the capacity and capability of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to carry out its regulatory duties and pledges its commitment to further improve its enablement to keep up the good job it is doing.
