NCAA Awards Landmark Drone Operations Certificate to Starwing Aviation

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has presented the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Operations Certificate (ROC) to Starwing Aviation Limited, a move underscoring its dedication to safety and fostering a conducive business environment. 

This award follows a rigorous and comprehensive certification process.

The Director-General, Civil Aviation (DGCA), Captain Chris Najomo, officiated the presentation ceremony at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja. 

Speaking at the event, Captain Najomo lauded the achievement as a crucial milestone and urged Starwing Aviation to uphold the certificate’s integrity through unwavering compliance.

Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards, Engr. Godwin Balang, elaborated on the meticulous certification journey, highlighting the emphasis placed on operational safety, particularly concerning security protocols and bird strike prevention.

Managing Director of Starwing Aviation, Dr. Harold Demuren, in his closing remarks, commended the NCAA for this pivotal step, envisioning Nigeria’s emergence as a hub for drone operations across Africa. 

He assured the Authority of Starwing Aviation’s commitment to demonstrating compliance throughout all their operations.

He extended his gratitude to Captain Chris Najomo, Engr. Balang, and the NCAA Licensing team for their invaluable cooperation and guidance during the certification process.
