President of NANTA, Mr. Sabitu Olayinka Folami

The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) is set to embark on a critical training expedition to Banjul, Gambia, aimed at enhancing the skills of its members in the travel trade industry.

This move comes just weeks after the association’s successful 49th Annual General Meeting in Lagos.

According to NANTA President, Mr. Yinka Folami, the training is a strategic growth plan designed to equip members with the necessary expertise to navigate the ever-demanding and dynamic nature of the travel trade business.

The training, slated for the last week of May 2025, is expected to be a comprehensive program that will delve into various aspects of intra-Africa travel and tourism, providing members with opportunities to tap into untapped value chains.

Mr. Folami emphasized that the association is committed to continuous training and retraining, considering it a key pillar of survival and growth for its members.

He also assured that the association would always prioritize steps that benefit its members, avoiding frivolities and wasteful lifestyle.

The upcoming training in Banjul is part of NANTA’s efforts to deepen its strategic growth plan, which began two years ago under the leadership of its immediate past president, Mrs. Susan Akporiaye.

The program is expected to be bigger than the one held two years ago, with a faculty team in place to provide top-notch training.

The event will also serve as an opportunity for NANTA to market Nigeria’s tourism and showcase its collaborative strength and reach within the trade circles in Africa and globally.

Members who have not yet registered are urged to reach out to the secretariat before the closing date in two weeks.
