NANTA distributes Facemasks to passengers, Aviation frontline workers

Members of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies, NANTA, today distributed facemasks to air passengers, airline staff and other aviation frontline workers.
This is part of NANTA’s Corporate Social Responsibility in joining hands with government in the containment of the Covid-19 pandemic in air travel.

The Vice President, NANTA Lagos Zone,Mr. Yinka Folami who led other members and volunteers to the Murtala Mohammed Airport Terminal 2, said the need to support medical safety protocols, imposed by the pandemic, was critical to all.
He stressed that, it was primary responsibility of NANTA to assist in restoring consumer confidence in both local and international travel and imperative to support protocols that encourage safety.
“All travel passengers deserve to be fully informed about travel protocols and destination restrictions in the imposed ‘new normal’. They should patronize accredited travel agents.”

In a brief meeting with the officials of the MM2 terminal, Mr. Folami said the pandemic had challenged every one, socially and commercially and it was time for compassion and a time to hold hands particularly when it comes to encouraging the Federal Government and the protocols regarding safety.
He said, it was important to encourage protocols and the body deemed it fit to give out facemasks.
“It is a definite time to show compassion and even though our businesses as travel agents have be severely hurt and as you all, the travel agents are the frontline of casualty, commercial casually and we still thought that it is a good time to show compassion and to hold our hands.”
He urged the travelling public to on their part be wary about the pattern and source of purchase of their travel tickets. 

“I will like to seize the opportunity to applaud the control and Containment interventions by the Federal Government in response to the outbreak of Covid 19 and the tireless participation of several concerned agencies/organizations in enforcing and monitoring safe return to travel normalcy.”

About the Facemasks, Folami said, “Our Face Masks have been produced from high quality light wool. They are breathable; they have been produced with filters and they pass the permeability test.”
Apart from the facemasks, Mr. Folami disclosed that NANTA through the Lagos zone had given out food items in terms of relief to 250 families within the vicinity of its headquarters.
“The food relief to families within the environment of our HQ will be executed on Friday 21st August 2020. This has been meticulously planned to target and reach the needy.” 
Other aviation and government agencies to benefit from the Covid 19 Face-Masks are Aviation Frontline workers (FAAN, NCAA, IATA, Immigrations among others on NANTA’s target date
15 NANTA CSR Volunteers participated in the distribution of the facemasks within the departure lounge of the MM2 facility and subtle sensitization of frontline aviation workers and passengers to support and respect Covid 19 Protocols for Airport and inflight safety. 
Group Corporate Affairs Manager, MM2, Mr. Mikhail Mumuni, commended NANTA for the gesture which was in line with government policy of ensuring passengers safety.He assured passengers that was safe to fly and applauded their support and cooperation in adhering to the covid-19 protocols in the terminal.
