The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has formalized a strategic partnership with the Ekiti State Government to ensure the smooth operation of the newly established Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport in Ado-Ekiti.
This partnership was solidified through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at NAMA’s headquarters annex at Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos, marking a significant milestone for both parties.
The MoU, which outlines the responsibilities, expectations, and standards for air traffic control services at the new airport, represents a mutual commitment to excellence.
In his remarks, NAMA’s Managing Director, Engr Farouk Ahmed Umar, emphasized that the agreement signifies more than just a contractual obligation.
According to him, it symbolizes a shared vision and dedication to achieving exceptional results, laying the foundation for a productive partnership that will ensure the airport’s successful operation.
Speaking on behalf of Engr Farouk, NAMA’s Director of Legal Services and Company Secretary, Mrs. Isemiuhonmon Rita Egbadon, underscored the importance of this collaboration in upholding the highest standards of quality, performance, and adaptability in an evolving aviation landscape.
She emphasized that the MoU is a pledge to prioritize customer satisfaction and to work diligently towards the project’s success.
Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, who represented the state governor at the event, highlighted the significance of this partnership as the Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport approaches full operation.
She expressed optimism that the airport would not only enhance tourism and air travel safety but also contribute significantly to economic growth, job creation, and improved connectivity for the people of Ekiti State.
Dr. Adubiaro reiterated that the primary objective of the MoU is to foster a collaborative relationship that ensures effective air traffic management and the highest safety standards for all airspace users.
