The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) has recognized and rewarded one of its staff, Mr. Auwal Dankode, for his exemplary display of honesty and integrity.
Dankode, a cleaning staff, found and returned a sum of $10,000 left behind by a passenger on an Egypt Air flight at the Kano airport.
The Group Managing Director/CEO of NAHCO Aviance, Mr. Indranil Gupta, commended Dankode for his actions, stating that he is a true NAHCO ambassador who has put into practice the values instilled in him during his training with the company.
Gupta announced a handsome cash reward, instant promotion, and appointment as NAHCO Brand Ambassador.
At a ceremony held at the company’s Head Office in Lagos, Gupta praised Dankode’s character, saying, “We are truly proud of the exemplary character exhibited by Auwal. He is a true NAHCO ambassador and an embodiment of what NAHCO stands for – honesty, integrity, diligence, and hard work.”
The CEO encouraged Dankode to continue demonstrating these values in his work and to remain grounded despite the recognition he has received.
Dankode’s actions have not only earned him recognition but also a chance to travel and interact with top officials and stakeholders of the company as a brand ambassador.
He will also grace all NAHCO major events across the country, promoting the company’s brand.
In his response, Dankode expressed his gratitude to the NAHCO Management for the training and opportunities provided to him, saying, “I am very grateful to NAHCO for the training they gave us and also for the opportunity to work and earn a decent living.”
The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Adeoye Emiloju, and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Didier Steullet, also commended Dankode for his actions, highlighting his integrity and honesty.
“You need to make sure you remain yourself and don’t get carried away with the adulation you are receiving on social media,” Steullet advised.
