The Nigeria Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) has taken a significant step towards strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and China.

The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Suzhou Chamber of International Commerce to establish a China-Nigeria (Suzhou) Logistics Park.

In a statement, NAHCO says, this collaboration is a direct response to the recent joint statement issued by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the China-Africa Forum for Cooperation (CAFCO).

The leaders agreed to elevate the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The proposed logistics park aims to facilitate seamless trade, improve logistics infrastructure, and increase investment opportunities between the two countries.

As a hub for China’s agricultural modernization, consumer goods, electronic appliances, cloud computing, and transportation, Suzhou is well-positioned to anchor this initiative.

The partnership between NAHCO and the Suzhou Chamber of International Commerce, the statement notes, underscores the growing importance of Nigerian organizations in fostering trade relations with China.

Dr. Seinde Oladapo Fadeni, Chairman of NAHCO Plc, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This agreement represents a pivotal moment for NAHCO and indeed for Nigeria.”

While Mr. Lin Xie, President of the Suzhou Chamber of International Commerce, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the partnership’s alignment with China’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial relationships with African nations.

Industry experts anticipate that this partnership could serve as a model for future collaborations between Chinese and African entities, reshaping the landscape of international trade and economic cooperation.
