The National Leadership of the Nigerian Aviation Fire and Safety Association (NAFSA) has recognized three top aviation executives for their exceptional performance in staff welfare.
The Chief executives were presented awards at the NAFSA’s Biennial Conference 2024 held in Abuja July 24-26, 2024.
The honorees include Captain Chris Najomo, Acting Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority; Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); and Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk, Managing Director of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
According to NAFSA National President Comrade Ugbeikwu Sunday, Mrs. Kuku was awarded for her outstanding performance in staff welfare, while Captain Najomo and Engr. Farouk received awards for being the Most Performing Managing Directors/Director General in the aviation sector.
Comrade Ugbeikwu said, “These individuals have demonstrated pragmatic leadership and exceptional acumen in their respective agencies, and it is only fitting that they be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the aviation sector”.
The conference, themed “Rationale for Collaborations and Inclusiveness in Emergency Response Geared Toward Achieving The Aviation Roadmap,” provided a platform for the heads of aviation agencies to discuss the roles of their agencies in emergency response.
As part of the conference, NAFSA also conferred honorary memberships on all the heads of aviation agencies in recognition of their immense contribution to the success and growth of the organization.
Comrade Ogbeikwu noted that, the Aviation Firefighters, as gatekeepers of safety in the aviation sector, play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of air travelers.
He added that, NAFSA’s collaborations with all the aviation agencies are essential in achieving this goal, and the organization is grateful for the support and cooperation it has received from the heads of these agencies.
The awards ceremony was a highlight of the conference, which brought together top executives from the aviation sector to discuss key issues and challenges facing the industry.
