MMIA Immigration Service processes 38,000 Visa-On-Arrival in 14 months

The Federal Government Executive Order, aimed at Ease of Doing Business is paying off as more foreigners including investors, tourists and others are making use of the Visa-On-Arrival, VOA.

Between June 2017 and August 2018, over 38,000 Visa-On-Arrival VOA have been processed by the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS through the Murtala Mohammed International airport Lagos.

Majority of these visa seekers come in from countries like the United States, China, Britain, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Source close to the NIS revealed that the visa on arrival is easy to get having a duration of a month and once approval was granted by the Comptroller General, the approval had a two-week validity and if not used at that time, it could be revalidated.

According to reports, the Visa-On-Arrival has brought a lot of investments into Nigeria and is expected to increase significantly, leading to increased trade and business between Nigeria and other countries of the World.

The Visa-On-Arrival has assisted foreigners visiting the country to get visas without stress, businessmen, women, tourists and others have benefited from this arrangements.
