MD FAAN holds meeting with staff, unions, AON, others

The new Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Captain Hamisu Yadudu has started oiling the wheels for the successful management and movement of the Agency to the Next Level.

Today, he held a meetings with staff, Airline operators of Nigeria, AON, unions and the media who are the major  stakeholders and patrons of its facilities across airports in the country.

The meeting which is to solicits their cooperation in moving FAAN forward is also geared towards meeting his set targets and goals.

Yadudu who assumed office as the MD FAAN last week immediately hit the ground running as he accompanied the former Minister of state aviation Senator Hadi Sirika to inaugurate some key projects executed by the Agency across airports in the country.
During the handover ceremony in Abuja last week, Yadudu was quoted as saying that he would instill a high standards of personal discipline in the discharge of professional responsibilities.
He had promised that in the next few months, the Agency would concentrate on improving itself and sustain a high level of discipline year-in, year-out.
Some stakeholders have decribed the move by the FAAN MD as a right step in the right direction, adding that having a town hall meeting with staff as a family would go a long way to help him achieve his goals.
According to them, feeling the pulse of the staff, knowing how they feel, their challenges, suggestions and the way forward was a good sign that he was ready to succeed.
Rasak Ope, chairman FAAN pensioners thanked the FAAN management for the prompt payment of their pensions.
The marathon meetings today also included three unions in the industry.

In attendance at the meetings with AON members led by its chairman, Capt. Nogie Meggison were the Airpeace boss, Medview, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, Overland, Capt. Edward Boyo, Caverton, Capt. Josiah Choms, Dana air, Mr. Obi Mbanuzuo among others. International airline representatives were also not left out of the gathering.
