Local climate leader, Mohammed Abdullahi joins former US VP Al Gore to hosts 24 hours reality project on Climate

Mohammed Abdullahi will join former US Vice President Al Gore and The Climate Reality Project for 24 Hours of Reality: Countdown to the Future, a digital and global conversation about the climate crisis and its solutions in communities around the world,

For one full day, Vice President Gore and members of Climate Reality’s network of more than 27,000 Climate Reality Leaders from 169 countries will lead digital discussions and presentations in communities across the globe, sharing updated, personalized versions of the presentation first made famous by the Academy Award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth

For audiences across the planet, 24 Hours of Reality will be an opportunity to learn how climate change, COVID-19, and structural racism intersect and shape the present moment. Countdown to the Future will also demonstrate actionable solutions for solving the climate and justice crises together to create a truly equitable and sustainable future for all.

As a trained Climate Reality Leader, Mohammed Abdullahi, will present on October 11 at 4:30pm in Lagos, Nigeria to members of their own community, with the hopes of inspiring future local action. Mohammed Abdullahi’s presentation will focus on the local impacts and solutions of the climate crisis in Lagos, especially as they relate to the climate change crisis and the need for renewable energy.

“I am delighted to be part of the movement aimed at protecting and preserving our environment. It is our collective responsibility to take action and make our environment a much better, greener place to live in,” stated Mohammed Abdullahi.

Alongside the trained volunteers, former Vice President Al Gore will culminate the event with a special presentation and sit down in conversation with activists on the frontlines of the climate and justice crises worldwide.

Those who attend the presentations will have the option to have a tree planted on their behalf through a collaboration between The Climate Reality Project and One Tree Planted.
