…..Combines Top-notch Facilities with Flexible Learning Options
….To Introduce Aircraft Maintenance Training, Further Expanding Its Course Offerings
Since its inception in June 2017, Lagos Aviation Academy (LAA) has rapidly ascended to become a premier aviation training organization in Nigeria and across Africa.
Bolaji Durojaiye, Head of School, attributes this success to the academy’s mission and vision of leading the aviation education sector on the continent.
Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, he said, as a notable figure in the aviation industry, the accountable manager of the school also serves as the President of the Association of Approved Training Organizations (AATO).
According to him, this influential position compels the academy to set high standards and lead by example, further establishing its prominence in the industry.
“You can imagine having your accountable manager as the president of the Association of Approved Training Organization. You don’t have a choice than to set standards and examples and set a lead for other schools”.
The AATO, which spans across Nigeria and Africa, is focused on adding significant value to the aviation sector.
Durojaiye explained that, the academy primarily targets young individuals aspiring to launch their careers in aviation, as well as industry professionals seeking to upskill, adding that, since 2017, LAA has trained over 2,400 students, and the numbers continue to grow.
The LAA, he said, offers flexible learning options, including physical classrooms equipped with top-notch facilities, virtual platforms for working professionals, and a blended approach combining both.
The academy is authorized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Nigeria and approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.
Durojaiye disclosed that, LAA is the only training school in Nigeria with access to Amadeus training facilities and platforms.
He added, the academy’s graduates are well-represented across the aviation industry, including airlines, travel agencies, and hospitality sectors.
LAA has produced the best performer in Nigeria in the years 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, consistently maintaining high standards of excellence.
“And since the inception, we have been training individuals, we have them cut across the whole industry, the airlines, the travel agencies, and the hospitality in general. Now, for us, we were able to produce the best performer in Nigeria in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, and we’re still keeping up our records as well”.
Currently, LAA offers over 20 courses divided into two main faculties: technical and operations, and travel and tourism.
In its continuous pursuit of industry advancement, the LAA Head stated, the academy plans to introduce aircraft maintenance training by next month, further expanding its comprehensive educational offerings.
“We also have the travel and tourism industry. Part of our plans very soon is to also delve into the maintenance. Maintenance is to cater for aircraft, this is the pipeline already, and hopefully by next month, we should kickstart with this”.
LAA remains accessible on various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, providing updates and engagement opportunities for prospective students and industry professionals.
