The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo has commended the Nigeria Aviation Handling Company, NAHCO Aviance for their innovative Export Processing and Packaging Centre in Lagos, foreseeing increased exports from Nigeria.
Inaugurating the facility at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, he hailed it as a boon for the aviation industry, addressing challenges in exporting perishable goods.
Represented by the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, emphasized the positive impact on shelf-life, temperature control, packaging, and regulatory compliance.
In the pursuit of revenue growth, the minister pledged ongoing government support for NAHCO’s ventures, appreciating their business acumen.
He encouraged exporters to leverage the facility, anticipating a positive effect on Nigeria’s balance of payments and currency strength.
According to him, FAAN, aligning with this objective, is actively promoting Cargo Development, aiming to identify and address challenges in cargo facilitation, particularly in exports.
Keyamo acknowledged NAHCO’s 44-year legacy, praising their professionalism, innovation, and community contributions.
He applauded their ability to keep customers and investors satisfied, recognizing their pivotal role in the industry’s growth.
