The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Capt. Chris Najomo as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The confirmation followed the Senate’s adoption of the report submitted by its Committee on Aviation during Thursday’s plenary session.
Chairman of the Aviation Committee, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai presented the report, stating that the committee’s screening of Capt. Najomo found him eminently qualified for the position.
He emphasizes that his vast experience and outstanding contributions to the aviation industry makes him a suitable candidate.
The committee chair, then urged the Senate to approve the committee’s recommendations.
Senator Mohammed Monguno, echoed the committee’s support for the nominee though not a member of the Aviation Committee,
He noted that Capt. Najomo’s resume was impressive and that no adverse security reports had been received from relevant agencies, calling on the Senate to confirm the nomination.
The Senate subsequently voted to confirm Capt. Najomo as the new Director General of the NCAA.
