The International Partners for Aviation Development, Innovation and Sustainability (iPADIS) has unveiled a new Model Policy and Guidance on Accessibility (MPGA) aimed at improving air travel experiences for persons with disabilities.

The MPGA, available at https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/get-started-with-accessibility-features-ipad9a2465f9/ipados, offers guidance to governments and stakeholders on how to optimize their regulations, operations, and services to meet the needs of the disabled community.

The document incorporates international treaties, standards, and best practices to ensure a more inclusive and accessible aviation sector.

According to the Founding President of iPADIS, Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, “We believe that the aviation industry’s long-term sustainability depends on its commitment to social responsibility and the needs of all users”.

He adds, “This MPGA is a significant step towards ensuring that persons with disabilities have the same travel opportunities as everyone else.”

The MPGA complements iPADIS’s Accessibility Evaluation and Promotion for Air Travel and Tourism (ACCEPT) Programme, which helps organizations assess their accessibility policies and practices.

By providing clear guidelines and recommendations, the MPGA aims to create a more inclusive and accessible aviation environment for all travelers.
