Ibom Air is excited to announce a significant step forward in its fleet development program! The airline has taken delivery of the first of 10 brand-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, marking the end of its wet-leased Airbus A320 operations.
“We initially used wet-leasing to meet growing demand while building our fleet,” explains Mr. George Uriesi, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “Now, with these A220s arriving, it’s time to reap the benefits of their superior operational efficiency and enhanced service.”
The A220 arrives at a crucial moment for Nigerian airlines, offering much-needed operational efficiency. It consumes 25% less fuel than comparable aircraft, while simultaneously delivering top-notch comfort, safety, and environmental friendliness.
While these exciting new arrivals are phased into service, Ibom Air acknowledges a temporary reduction in flight schedules for a few weeks. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” says Uriesi, “but it’s a necessary step towards a future of even better and more stable service with our new state-of-the-art fleet.”
This transition signifies a major leap forward for Ibom Air, positioning the airline for continued growth and success in the Nigerian aviation market. With its commitment to cutting-edge technology and passenger experience, Ibom Air is poised to soar to new heights!
