Ibom Air, a leading airline in Nigeria, has issued a statement addressing recent allegations concerning its handling of flight check-ins and ticketing procedures at its Port Harcourt station.
The airline categorically rejects the baseless claims, emphasizing its commitment to serving customers fairly and transparently.
According to Ibom Air’s General Manager, Marketing and Communication, Aniekan Essienette, the airline operates with the highest level of integrity and adheres to international standards in its ticketing process.
She said, the airline has taken this opportunity to educate passengers and the public on some aviation rules, aimed at ensuring a smooth and stress-free travel experience.
It also clarified its policy on flight closures, stating that check-ins close 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights, ensuring timely departures and minimizing delays, adding that, the airline recommends that passengers arrive on time for their flights to make for a comfortable and stress-free travel experience.
Regarding the handling of “Go-show” passengers, the airline adheres to IATA’s guidelines, informing passengers if the flight is full and accommodating them only if seats are available after all booked, early, and on-time passengers have been served.
Ibom Air also addressed corruption allegations, stating that it operates under strict ethical standards, prohibiting its staff from engaging in any form of racketeering or corruption.
The airline ensures its ticketing process is transparent and secure, leaving no room for such practices and any attempt to undermine these standards will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action will be taken.
