In significant milestone, the Aviation Security Department at Samuel Oladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, recently promoted and upgraded several members of staff to higher ranks
The event marked a testament to the exceptional achievements and dedication of the department’s staff.
According to her, Aviation Chief of Security, Mr. Victor Adeya, described the day as “highly auspicious,” noting that in his five years at the airport, he had never witnessed such a large number of senior staff being promoted simultaneously.
“History is being made today with the elevation of so many officers to high ranks. This sets a new standard for our department,” he remarked.
Mr. Adeya encouraged the newly promoted officers to see their advancement as a powerful motivator, urging them to “let it inspire you to excel.”
He also congratulated the officers, advising them to uphold exemplary behavior within the airport and its surroundings.
The Acting Manager, Ibadan Airport, Mr. Francis Balogun, extended his congratulations to the promoted officers, emphasizing the importance of commitment to the organization’s growth.
“This promotion is a privilege. Be grateful to God and to the organization for this opportunity,” he stated.
Among the notable promotions were Lateef Kazeem Olabamidele, who moved from Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Assistant General Manager (AGM), Level 15; Oluwasegun Ifelayo Adeola, from Assistant Chief Aviation Security Officer to Chief Aviation Security Officer (CASO), Level 14; Onaolapo Funmi Stella, from Chief Aviation Security Superintendent (CASS) to Officer-in-Charge of Crime Investigation and Intelligence Unit; and Owonubi Owolabi Luke, from Crime Officer to Chief Aviation Security Officer (CASO), Level 14.
The ceremony also witnessed the upgrading of officers from night guards to AVSEC officers, including Owolabi Kolawole Adetunji, who was promoted to Assistant Aviation Security Superintendent (AASS), Level 07, and Kolapo Samuel Gbenga, who advanced to Aviation Security Cadet (ASC), Level 06.
Highlight of the event was words of encouragement for the newly promoted officers to continue their dedication and service, ensuring the highest standards of security and professionalism at Ibadan Airport.
