AS the year comes to end, the aviation industry like other sector begin to wind down and take stock in all the activities that trailed the industry throughout the year. Though Besieged by various operational challenges ranging from poor supply of aviation fuel to continued devaluation of the naira, the industry has staggered on, with thanks to dedicated aviation workers who have continued to upheld best industry practices.
To recognize and motivate personnel of the aviation industry, FCI International ltd, the pioneer of Nigeria Aviation development promotion event is geared once again to hold the aviation industry most prestigious award event, NIGAV Award on the 9th of December 2016 in Lagos.
In a press release by the Chief Convener of the award programme, Mr Fortune Idu, NIGAV event is designed to identify and recognize individuals and organizations that have brought remarkable changes and improvements to the industry through works and acts that added value to aviation development, air transport service delivery and safer air travel.
In his statement he said, that the selection process is through public opinion either sent through email or filled out in the form which the organizer had made available on its website since July this year. Anyone can nominate and justify it with reasons. The submission will be subjected to a review by NIGAV committee to arrive to final selection.
The awards are good will awards for industry promotion which also supports selected charities. This year will be the seventh year of NIGAV award with over 30 awards conferred to Nigeria in various categories of endeavours.
This year, 38 categories have been selected and nominations are presently being made, where awards will be presented at the Aviation Ministerial Award and Gala Dinner on 9th December 2016, 6.00pm, Euphoria Events Centre Ikeja.
This year’s event is hoped to be chaired by the Honourable Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, and with our Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Honourable Chibuike Amaechi as the Special Guest of Honour.
Industry Keynote address will be presented by Dr. Harold Olusegun Demuren (former Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority).
