Cape Town, South Africa – FAME Week Africa has proudly announced Nigeria as the Country of Honour for its third edition, taking place from September 1-7, 2024, in Cape Town, South Africa.
This prestigious recognition acknowledges Nigeria’s significant growth as a powerhouse in the cultural and creative industries, both within Africa and globally.
Nigeria’s thriving film industry, valued at over $6.4 billion, produces over 2,500 movies annually, making it a key player in the global entertainment sector.
The country’s music artists, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, and Odumodublvck, have achieved global success, riding the digital wave to international acclaim.
Nigerian fashion labels, such as Head of State, Tia Adeola, and Oshobor, have also made a mark on the global stage, showcasing vibrant and cutting-edge designs at New York Fashion Week 2024.
FAME Week Africa will celebrate Nigeria’s dynamic creative sector and foster international collaboration through a series of high-profile events, including screenings, producers’ panels focusing on co-production opportunities, and a Nollywood Night for the Opening Night Party.
The programme is curated by FAME Week Africa in partnership with Nigeria’s National Council for Arts and Culture.

The Nigeria Pavilion, organized by the National Council for Arts and Culture, will serve as a hub for networking meetings focused on co-production and distribution agreements, as well as other career-enhancing discussions. It will also host various activities throughout the week celebrating Nigeria’s designation as the Country of Honour.
FAME Week Africa kicks off on September 1, 2024, with Nollywood Night at the Rockefeller Hotel, followed by MIP Africa, Muziki Africa, and the African Fashion Forum at the Cape Town Convention Centre from September 2-4. The event concludes with the FAME Shorts Festival from September 4-7 at The Labia Theatre.
