These facilities include the total rehabilitation of the baggage system at Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos which has been procured with the installation to be concluded in few weeks.

The FAAN boss noted that in the  last 5 years the agency through the support of the Federal Government and other stakeholders had turned around Nigerian Airports.

He listed who had been achieved to include, Massive upgrade, rehabilitation and remodelling of existing Terminals in our 20 local Airports, Construction of series of brand-new Terminals with ultra-modern facilities, in our five International Airports of MMIA, Lagos; NAIA, Abuja; MAKIA, Kano; Port-Harcourt International Airport and AIIA, Enugu.

“Abuja and Port Harcourt have been commissioned while Kano and Lagos will be commissioned soon, the closure of infrastructural GAPs which led to the certification of MMIA Lagos and the NAIA, Abuja with Kano and Port-Harcourt and the recent achievements include, commissioning of Terminal D in Abuja for operations.”
Captain Yadudu,  emphasized that these facilities have been transformed as the growth in passenger traffic and aircraft movements over time have over-stretched and aged the facilities.
“Also  given that most often it takes more resources and time lags to remodel an existing structure, one has every reason to say that FAAN made and is still making steady and sustained improvements given these constrains.”

He assured to continuous work closely and collaborate with all Stakeholders to ensure that we collectively achieve the vision of making the Nigerian Aviation industry a pride in the West Africa/Central Africa Sub-Region.
