In the quest for a secure airport environment, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is poised to deploy 201 Aviation Security (AVSEC) officers across all Nigerian airports.

These officers, trained intensively for 8 weeks in counter-terrorism, airport emergency response, conflict management, effective communication, leadership, and security awareness, are now prepared to showcase their skills.

At the AVSEC cadets’ passing out parade in Lagos, FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmni Kuku, urged the officers to embody the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, emphasizing that the safety and confidence of passengers rely on their capable hands.

She encouraged them to internalize civil aviation regulations, stay vigilant like eagles, and recognize their vital role in every safe takeoff and landing.

Addressing the cadets, Mrs. Kuku stated, “You, dear Cadets, are our eyes and ears. I look forward to seeing you in the field with smiles on your faces and wish you the very best in your chosen careers.”

Emphasizing FAAN’s commitment, she reiterated the agency’s dedication to prioritizing safety, security, and passenger comfort.

Closing the ceremony, Mrs. Bola Fawehinmi, General Manager of Training and Human Resources Development, acknowledged the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo’s commitment to increasing human capital in FAAN.

She credited the past Managing Director, Mr. Kabir Mohammed, for significant contributions to the training and expressed confidence that the new MD would exceed expectations.

Reflecting on the training process, Mrs. Fawehinmi commended the dedicated professional team behind the scenes, emphasizing that it required meticulous planning and attention to detail.

She congratulated the graduates, expressing optimism that they would effectively apply the skills, morals, and competences acquired during their training to secure the lives and properties entrusted to FAAN.
