FAAN confirms 300 staff as aviation fire and security officers as female officers shine with awards

Over 200 staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN have been confirmed fire fighting and security officers after a 13 weeks training programme in Lagos.
The officers who have gone through rigorous training in fitness and attitude toward work displayed various skills in match passed and teakwando during their passing out parade.


Managing Director,FAAN, Mr. Saleh Dunoma who congratulated the officers for their successful training urged them to be good ambassadors of the organization in the discharge of their duties.
Dunoma represented by the Director, Engineering services, Salisu Daura, said the essence of the training was to instill discipline and commitment in the trainees.
According to him,” all the 3 months rigorous training, off course we agree it has been rough and tough for them but at the end of the day, we have seen the result”
In most of the awards given out to the trainees for performing excellently both in fitness and academics, 5 of the females clinch the awards to the amazement of the guest.
Commenting on this, representative of the MD, Salisu Daura said,”this is the new trend, even in school, am not taking about regimented life, the ladies seems to be doing better that the men probably they read more, there is the saying that what a man can do, women can do better and we have just witnessed today now”
He said the officers are expected to carry out their duties in line with ICAO best standards and recommended practices to treat people with civility and any where they can hold their onion.
General Manager, training, FAAN, Mr. Nath McAbraham Inajoh commended the officers for their commitment, resilient and cooperation during the period.
“When we post these ones out, they will add value to the organization. I want to appreciate the management for supporting us by enabling us to carry out this programme of 3 months of intensive training and the resources deployed and am sure you will agree with me did not go down the drain”.

Awards where later presented to deserving officers for their good work by the representative of the MD, Director, admin and the GM fire Mr. Ekpe.

 


Ibekwe ebere chukwu Joy, one of the recipient of the 2nd best female academics award described the award as a surprise, thanking God for the success of the programme.
According to her,” the training was so rigorous, it got to a point, I wanted to loss hope but they always tell us that we are all together, I have never had this kind of training before, am so happy, my joy knows no bound”
Mrs Brown, another recipient of the General parade commander award, when I was called, I thought it was a joke, I was so surprised and am very grateful for the opportunity that have been given to me to be part of this organization and I promise to do my best”.

The officers are to be deployed to all airports across the country.
