Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline, announced today a significant expansion of its services from Lagos, introducing a second daily flight starting July 1st.

This move will increase the airline’s weekly flights from Lagos to 14, offering Nigerian passengers more flexibility and improved connectivity to a vast network of African and Asian destinations.

The additional daily flight comes with a host of benefits designed to reward loyal passengers.

According to the Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Nigeria, Mrs. Firiehiwot Mekonnen, passengers will enjoy increased baggage allowance, particularly for those traveling to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Madras, and Dubai. Furthermore, travelers can earn “double double miles” when flying with the airline.

“We are offering these extra benefits to reward our loyal passengers as we offer more flights and options out of Lagos,” stated Mrs. Mekonnen.

“These extra flights help us improve service delivery and reduce costs for travelers. Most of our passengers will now arrive their destinations faster.”

The new flight schedule introduces diverse departure times from Lagos. Four evening flights will depart at 10:00 PM, while three morning flights will take off at 5:40 AM. The existing daily midday flight will remain unchanged.

The evening departure, flight ET 902, leaving Lagos at 10:00 PM and arriving in Addis Ababa at 5:20 AM, will provide immediate connections to all African destinations, Dubai (DXB), São Paulo (GRU), Tel Aviv (TLV), and several other locations. The morning departure, flight ET 904, at 5:40 AM from Lagos, arriving in Addis Ababa at 1:00 PM, will offer seamless connections to afternoon departures for various African countries, Dubai (UAE), São Paulo (Brazil), Tel Aviv (Israel), Mumbai (India), Delhi (India), Hyderabad (India), Chennai (India).

Others are Istanbul (Turkey), Rome (Italy), Athens (Greece), Zanzibar (Tanzania), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), among others. These increased connections are expected to significantly reduce overall travel time for passengers.

Ethiopian Airlines has a long-standing presence in Nigeria, having commenced operations in 1960.

The airline is renowned for its modern fleet, including the A350-1000 and B787 Dreamliner, connecting Lagos to over 140 global destinations.
