Ethiopian Airlines Group proudly announces the completion of the Gode Ugaas Miraad Airport Terminal, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to elevate airport experiences.
The grand inauguration witnessed the presence of Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed and President H.E. Mustafe Mohammed Omer, showcasing the new state-of-the-art terminal’s cutting-edge amenities.
After three years of dedicated construction, the terminal boasts a spacious 3,500sq built-up area, a modern apron with the capacity to handle four aircraft simultaneously, and essential ancillary structures including a rescue and firefighting station, water reservoir, and parking areas.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, expressed his delight, emphasizing the project’s role in enhancing domestic airport facilities and exemplifying the airline’s commitment to both domestic and international operations.
Mr. Tasew emphasized that the Gode Ugaas Miraad Airport Terminal is just one of several ongoing projects, with similar terminals progressing well in Jinka, Kombolcha, Goba/Robe, and Bahir Dar airports.
The commitment reflects Ethiopian Airlines Group’s dedication to contributing to the country’s tourism and socio-economic growth.
Equipped with the latest technology and amenities, including a solar system, the new terminal not only enhances passenger experience but also aligns with Ethiopian Airlines’ role in regional connectivity.
The airline operates daily flights to and from Gode, providing direct travel options between Jigjiga and Gode, eliminating the need for transit through Addis Ababa.
Since acquiring the Ethiopian Airports Enterprise in 2017, Ethiopian Airlines Group has assumed an integral role in administrative oversight and construction projects for airports across the country, further solidifying its commitment to aviation excellence
