Eid-El-Fitri: FAAN stresses adherence to Covid safety protocols, assures passenger security

Ahead of the Eid-El-Fitri celebrations which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says all  passengers and airport users must abide by all laid down protocols on Covid-19 while using the airports.

The Authority notes that recent developments in some parts of the world with respect to the Covid-19 pandemic requires that all hands must be on deck.

Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, in a statement says, “All airport Managers have been charged to ensure that they enforce the wearing of masks, the washing of hands and the observance of social distancing between them and whoever is ahead of them and with the information we got from the PTF, I can assure you we are not going to rest on our oars, everyone coming to our airports must be fully kitted”.

She adds that, all necessary measures have been put in place to guarantee the safety and security of airport users during and after the celebration. 

“We are working in collaboration with the military to secure all passengers and users of all airports in the country”.

The Authority also advised with the expected increase in the volume of passenger traffic, intending passengers should to leave their homes early enough, so as to get to the airports and complete all check-in formalities in good time to avoid missing their flights.
