Dr. Kana Pledges Collaboration to Address Funding Challenges in Aviation Sector

….Expresses Commitment to Sector’s Growth

The new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, has commended the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for its crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient air navigation in Nigeria.

During a working visit to NAMA’s headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Kana described the agency as “very strategic and pivotal in the nation’s economic development.” 

He praised NAMA staff for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to achieving organizational objectives.

“Teamwork is the foundation of success, and your dedication will continue to propel NAMA to greater heights”.

He acknowledged NAMA’s vision to be a leading air navigation service provider globally, aligning with the strategic goals of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to elevate the aviation industry.

Addressing the challenges posed by the fluctuating dollar exchange rate, Dr. Kana reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing funding challenges in the sector, pledging to collaborate with the Minister to secure necessary funding for NAMA’s projects.

Earlier, NAMA Managing Director, Engr. Ahmed Farouk, expressed gratitude for the Permanent Secretary’s visit. 

He highlighted the importance of safety in NAMA’s operations and acknowledged funding challenges for critical navigational infrastructure.

Engr. Farouk expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of the Permanent Secretary and the Minister to ensure the successful completion of ongoing projects. 

He also revealed plans to commence the construction of NAMA’s corporate headquarters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with the groundbreaking ceremony to be performed by the Minister.
