Diabetes: Aviation Lions Club conducts free test for Lagos residents

The Ikeja Aviation Lions club over the weekend joined other organizations to mark the World Diabetes Day in Lagos.

Many residents of ikeja and environs came out to access the free medical care which took place at the Ikeja local government council secretariat.

President, Aviation Lions club, Mr. AbdulRahman Musa said the exercise was part of their corporate social responsibility in giving back to the society.

According to him, Lions were out to support, improve and develop the state of humanity. “It is part of our social responsibility and in service to humanity because Lions are problem solvers and we have to care for people for a better society to exist”.

“Nobody is happy in any ailment condition, those you see today coming here for examination are happy to know their status. First is to know your state of health and secondly, you now know how to commence treatment and that is what the Ikeja Aviation Lions Club in conjuction with other District governors did today. We are happy to save lives ” Musa said.

He announced that a similar exercise soon will be carried out,  this time they would be embarking on a free eye test at the airport.

The Ikeja Aviation Lions club since the emergence of Mr. Musa as President,has carried out free distribution of face masks, sanitizers to airport workers, travellers, organisations and donation of books to secondary and primary schools within the Lagos vicinity.

It has also carried out tree planting exercises and distribution of different text books to Airport primary and secondary Schools Ikeja.
