The family of Kingsley Ezenwa, spokesperson for Dana Air, has announced the passing of their beloved patriarch, High Chief Edward Nweze Ezenwa.
The 85-year-old passed away recently in Lagos after a brief illness.
A statement released by the family revealed that a befitting burial ceremony was held for the late High Chief on October 11, 2024.
“We all still miss our dear dad and we take consolation in the fact that we gave him a befitting burial deserving of a legend that he was,” Kingsley Ezenwa shared with newsmen.
Born in Anambra State, High Chief Ezenwa was a distinguished individual who earned academic and sports accolades. His athletic prowess earned him the nicknames “horse” and “okalicha,” signifying his excellence among peers.
After relocating to Lagos, he joined International Paint West Africa (IPWA) in the 1970s and retired as Human Resources Director three decades later.
A devout Catholic, the late High Chief was known for his strong commitment to tradition and community development.
He actively participated in social programs in both Lagos and his home state of Anambra. His jovial nature, love for social gatherings, and keen sense of humor made him a beloved figure among friends and family.
High Chief Ezenwa is survived by his wife, five sons, grandchildren, a brother, and several sisters. His legacy as a motivator, teacher, loving father, and husband will be cherished by all who knew him.
The Ezenwa family expressed their gratitude to friends, well-wishers, family, and colleagues in the aviation industry, including the League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), for their support during this challenging time.
