Cabo Verde Airline has joined other foreign airlines in suspending their flights into Lagos Nigeria.
The airline in a letter to its partners, says it will commence the suspension of flights from 16th March to 31st May, 2020.
According to the airline, their action is due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, and the fact that many countries are imposing a temporary ban on inbound travel from countries with large numbers of infections.
“This situation has had a profound negative effect on the demand for passenger flights worldwide. Considering both economic and environmental consequences it has become necessary for airlines to respond to the lower demand by reducing flight schedules.”
“In line with the above, Cabo Verde Airlines will suspend the route *Sal – Lagos – Sal* during the period between March 16th and May 31st 2020. Cabo Verde Airlines will provide a full refund to customers who purchased tickets for the cancelled flights.”
Last week, Turkish airlines issued a statement of its suspension of flights to Nigeria due to the pandemic from the 17th of March, 2020 into 3 cities, Lagos, Abuja and Port-harcourt.
