Covid 19: Seriki Arewa Alimosho harps on social distancing

… Urges govt to seek local cure for Covid 19

Nigerians have been advised to continue maintaining social distancing following the easing of the lockdown by the Federal Government on Lagos state.

This is just as government’s at all levels have been ureged to heighten enlightenment campaign on coronavirus as the disease does not discriminate between the rich and poor.

The Chairman of the Chieftaincy Council of Arewa Community and overall Sarkin Alimosho LGA, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja who gave the advice while exchanging views with journalists in Lagos disclosed, that some people were of the view their the COVID 19 was only attacking the rich people in the country warning, that caution should be taken as some state governors with the commencement on the easing of their lockdown.

He noted that hunger was responsible for the crowing of people at most commercial banks in Lagos last Monday, adding that most people were without any means of livelihood.

Kuraja noted that social distancing, regular washing of hands among other measures recommended by NCDC must be adhered to by everybody.

The Seriki Arewa disclosed that palliatives of different kinds have been distributed by him to people within the Alimosho community, but noted that government needed to do more to assist the masses.

Kuraja called on the government to embark on enlightenment programs in various Nigerian languages on radio and television stations to get to the grassroots for easy understanding of the disease.

The Seriki called on all Muslims to use the period of the Ramadan to pray for the country to overcome the Coronavirus scourge in the country.

Meanwhile, as the world anxiously await the invention of a vaccine with the potency and efficacy to combat and neutralize the corona virus scourge, Kuraja has urged government to look inward for an adaptable herbal contraption to fight the dreaded covid-19.
