The 5th Dronetex Conference and Exhibition, recently held at the NIGAV Expo Event Centre at Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos, has highlighted Nigeria’s growing interest in drone technology.
Garry Chen, Sales Manager of Yangda drone, a Chinese company, described Nigeria as a fast-growing nation in drone acquisition, with immense potential for the application of drone technology.
According to Chen, Nigerians are hardworking people with a great vision for the application of drone technology. He commended the organizers of Dronetex, led by Mr. Fortune Idu, for their efforts in promoting drone technology in Nigeria, which he believes will attract young Nigerians to the field.
Yangda drone showcased its latest drone technology at the conference, including two types of fixed-wing drones with a flight duration of three hours.
These drones can be used for pipeline surveillance and other applications. Chen expressed his company’s interest in partnering with Nigerians to produce drones in the country, which he believes will boost the development of the drone industry in Nigeria.
The future of drone technology looks promising, with potential applications in areas such as surveillance, mapping, and inspection of difficult terrains, where human access is limited.
Chen emphasized that Nigeria is well-positioned to leverage drone technology to drive innovation and economic growth.
