The European American University (EAU) has conferred an honorary Doctor of Public Policy & Administration (honoris causa) on Captain Musa Nuhu, a former representative of Nigeria at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The honour was bestowed upon Capt. Nuhu during the 2025 Good Governance Summit held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Saturday, January 25, 2025. 

The summit with the theme, “Promoting Business Investment and Food Security as a Pathway To Good Governance,” brought together prominent leaders and experts to discuss critical challenges facing the world.

Capt. Nuhu, a renowned aviation expert, was recognized for his outstanding leadership roles in Africa and his contributions to the aviation industry. 

He was praised for his commitment to meaningful public change and his achievements in bringing sanity to the Nigerian aviation industry during his tenure as Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA).

The European American University’s Board of Regents and Education, African Regional Operations, presented capt. Nuhu with the honorary doctorate degree, along with four other individuals, in recognition of their great achievements and outstanding performance as international business practitioners, motivators, and human resource experts.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed his delight at the recognition and pledged to continue serving, learning, and contributing to the advancement of the aviation sector and other areas that promote global progress. 

Capt. Nuhu emphasized the importance of good governance, accountability, transparency, and inclusivity in achieving sustainable development and addressing critical challenges such as business investment and food security.

The other honorees included Dr. Charles Ezeagwu, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwosu, Dr. Kingsley Ebere-Umeojiaka, and Dr. Ejike Okerekeamara, all of whom were recognized for their outstanding achievements in their respective fields.

The European American University’s representative, Prof. John Odeh, congratulated the honorees and challenged them to continue flying the flag in their various endeavours.
