Awards: Sierra Leone honours Capt. Musa Nuhu, bags ATQ Aviation Man of the Year, others


The DGCA, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu (Chairman Board of Directors of BAGASOO) being honored by the Minister of Transportation of Sierra Leone His Excellency Kabineh Moinama Kallon with a plaque and traditional attire for his great contribution and support to the success of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority and work of BAGASOO in the region.

It has been harvests of awards for Director General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu.

Captain Nuhu, the Chairman of Banjul Accord Group Aviation Safety Oversight Organization (BAGASOO) was honoured by the Sierra Leonean Minister of Transportation, His Excellency Kabineh Moinama Kallon.

This is in recognition of his great contributions and support to the success of the Sierra Leonean Civil Aviation Authority and work for BAGASOO in the region.

This is just as the Management of Air Transport Quarterly Magazine (ATQ), during their annual industry award, third in the series for Aviation Industry and Business & Economy Sector, conferred on the NCAA helmsman “ATQ AVIATION MAN OF THE YEAR. Similarly the Authority was awarded “AVIATION AGENCY OF THE YEAR 2022.”

Before now, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu was bestowed with the 2022 Icon of the Year Award by the Africa Safety Award for Excellence (AfriSAFE) in recognition of the NCAA helmsman’s exemplary contribution towards the improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Well-being in Africa.

The coveted award by AfriSAFE, which is arguably the biggest Health and Safety Event (HSE) in Africa was its fourth instalment event.

The last in the harvests of awards was an award of recognition conferred on Captain Musa by MamaJ Aviation Consult for encouraging the initiative geared towards building human capacity for the industry through networking, training and mentoring.

However, upon his receipt of all these, Captain Nuhu had always dedicated them to the Almighty God and to the entire NCAA family for what he described as, “their hard working spirit and support”, which he said, to be “prompting the recognitions, appreciation and encouragements”.

“We are challenged not to relent in our strive for excellence and enforcement of compliance to safety regulations”, DGCA added.
