…..crown King, Queen of the Air winners 2024

The Nigeria Aviation will witness a spectacle of soaring style and service as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, alongside the Director General, Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo prepare to crown the nation’s top cabin crew at the 14th annual NIGAV Awards and Ministerial Dinner.

The highly anticipated event, slated for Friday, April 11, 2025, at the NIGAV Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, promises an afternoon of glamour, recognition, and celebration of excellence within the Nigerian aviation sector.

The Nigeria Aviation Award Committee (NIGAV), in collaboration with the NCAA, has issued a call to arms, inviting the best and brightest of Nigeria’s cabin crew to vie for the coveted titles of King and Queen of the Air (NKQA 2024).

This prestigious competition, a highlight of NIGAV’s annual end-of-year aviation performance celebration, shines a spotlight on the critical role cabin crew play in ensuring passenger safety and enhancing the overall flight experience.

According to the Chairman of the NIGAV Event Committee, Mr. Fortune Idu in a statement says, “This contest underscores the crucial role that cabin crew play in enhancing the overall flight experience for passengers”.

He emphasized that the NKQA contest is more than just a pageant; it’s a testament to the dedication and professionalism of those who serve on the frontlines of Nigerian aviation.

Adding to the allure of the competition, the winner will receive a substantial prize of two million naira. But the rewards extend beyond monetary gain.

The reigning King and Queen will embark on a year-long reign, initiating a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that begins with a generous charity donation to the SOS Children’s Village.

Their tenure will also include a community awareness campaign focused on promoting aviation safety, making them ambassadors of excellence and social responsibility.

The competition, open exclusively to Nigerian cabin crew currently employed by Nigerian airlines, requires a formal letter of interest endorsed by their respective airline management.

With limited spaces available, applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, urging airlines to promptly nominate their representatives. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2025.

Adding a touch of festivity to the evening, an exclusive “After Flight Party” will be held for the award winners and participating cabin crew, offering a chance to unwind and celebrate their achievements.

The NIGAV Awards and Ministerial Dinner promises to be an unforgettable evening, celebrating the dedication and professionalism of Nigeria’s aviation professionals, with the crowning of the King and Queen of the Air as the pinnacle of the event.
