Africa World Airlines (AWA) marked a decade of successful operations on the Lagos – Accra route by presenting free tickets to its loyal customers.
The celebration took place at the departure hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where high-profile guests and industry figures gathered to commemorate the airline’s significant milestone.
Mr. Jonathan Appiah, Head of Commercial, welcomed attendees and reflected on the remarkable decade for AWA.
He expressed joy and pride in the airline’s achievements, urging everyone to not only look back but also anticipate a promising future.
Emphasizing innovation, expansion, and excellence, he encouraged the collective pursuit of greater heights.
Discussing future plans, Mr. Appiah highlighted the introduction of E-190s to the fleet as a pivotal moment in their expansion strategy.
He revealed plans to include exciting destinations such as Monrovia, Freetown, Banjul, Dakar, Sao Tome, Port Harcourt, Abidjan, and more in their network.
These additions, he stated, demonstrate AWA’s commitment to connecting communities and enriching travel experiences.
The Airline’s Country Manager, Mr. Kingsley Chima, expressed excitement about the achievement and acknowledged AWA as the first airline to offer five daily flights on the route.
He thanked those instrumental in the success and affirmed the commitment to maintaining the airline’s renowned standards.
The Country Manager for Nigeria expressed gratitude to pioneer organizations and personalities who supported AWA’s entry into Nigeria.
He specifically mentioned Mrs. Gloria Atumu of APG and Mr. Adeniyi Adigun, Director Sales of Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO Plc), among others.
