In a meeting brimming with optimism, the newly appointed Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, embraced the burgeoning dreams of the Aviacargo Roadmap Committee.

Convening with the Committee’s Coordinator, Ambassador Ikechi Uko and a dedicated team, Mrs. Kuku declared air cargo a “major focus” for her administration, pledging unwavering support for Nigeria’s ascent in the global Air Cargo arena.

“I am absolutely thrilled by the committee’s progress,” the MD enthused. “Bring your well-developed plans, and together, we’ll transform them into reality. I envision actionable blueprints, not mere ideas. Consider me your tireless advocate, ready to knock on any door and navigate any hurdle to make this a resounding success.”

Ambassador Uko presented a comprehensive report, chronicling the committee’s journey thus far. He shed light on the project’s genesis, insightful field trips to domestic and regional airports, and the groundbreaking “Cargo Bill of Rights” initiative.

Ambassador Uko envisioned a future where “Unknown Goods” at the Aviation Cargo Village would be seamlessly transformed into “Known Goods,” paving the way for streamlined operations.

The culminating report, he assured, would not only introduce standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for stakeholders but also forge Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between regulatory agencies and airport authorities.

This ambitious blueprint, the Aviacargo Coordinator affirmed, would redefine air cargo management in Nigeria.

Expressing profound gratitude for the MD’s unwavering support, Ambassador Uko pledged regular updates on the project’s progress.

The meeting witnessed a warm exchange of ideas, attended by Directors of Commercial and Business Development Adebola Agunbiade and Legal Services Barr. Bridget Gold.

Representing the committee’s core, General Managers, Business Development Hycienth Ngwu, Cargo Kabiru Mohammed, Assistant General Manager Cargo, Obiora Udoyeh, and Secretary Barr. Jude Bobby Omeogu actively participated in the fruitful discussion.

With Mrs. Kuku’s resolute backing and the committee’s unwavering dedication, Nigeria’s Aviacargo dreams are poised to take flight, soaring towards a sky brimming with boundless possibilities.
