Anuforom commends NiMet’s high level performance

…advocates sustainability of government policies

Former Director General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, Dr. Anthony Anuforom, has commended the agency for the sustainability of its high level of performance both at National and international levels.

He noted that, the rating of NiMet at the World Meteorological Organization, WMO is high and has remained the most advanced MET service today.

Dr. Anuforom who gave the commendation during a visit to the current DG NiMet, Prof. Mansur Matazu on his invitation also thanked the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace development for the immerse support accorded NiMet.

He expressed delight that the present management is building on his agency, adding that they have done a good job than he imagined.

Dr. Anuforom reiterated the need for sustainability of policies in government agencies to ensure development in the system.

According to him, NiMet is a good study case of sustainability of  government agencies and like a relay where baton is handed over to the next person.

He said, the aviation industry is highly automated, equipment dependent and highly knowledge driven thus in such an industry, speed is required to meet up.

Dr. Anthony Anuforom is regarded as the father of modern MET in Nigeria and was the Director General of NiMet from 2007 to 2017.
