TAAG Angola Airlines, has taken a significant step in its growth plan by incorporating the first A220-300 aircraft into its fleet.

The airline showcased the aircraft, Airbus’ most efficient small single-aisle aircraft, to customers, shareholders, partners, government officials, and diplomatic bodies in a symbolic ceremony at Luanda 4 de Fevereiro International Airport.

The A220-300, which is part of a lease agreement with ALC, will operate high-demand domestic routes and intra-Africa connections, further solidifying TAAG’s modernization and growth path.

The airline’s 2024-2029 expansion plan includes a more versatile fleet, and the A220-300 is set to play a key role in this strategy.

The aircraft boasts a total capacity of 137 passengers, with 12 business class seats and 125 economy class seats.

Its innovative cabin features, including the widest economy seats, large windows, and high ceilings, will provide a superior flying experience for TAAG passengers and customers on local and regional flights.

The A220-300 is also a smart, tech-advanced equipment, offering 28m³ of usable cargo volume. Its advanced aerodynamics and specifically designed turbofan engines make it an environmentally friendly option, with 25% lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation aircraft, half the noise footprint, and decreased emissions.

From a branding perspective, the aircraft is the first to feature TAAG’s new company livery, which incorporates the PALANCA (black antelope, a national symbol in Angola) on the plane’s tail and winglets.

The color pattern is inspired by Angola’s traditional fabrics, reflecting the airline’s commitment to its heritage and cultural identity.
