The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has reiterated its unwavering dedication to upholding the dignity and rights of all consumers, regardless of physical ability.

Dr. Adamu Abdullahi, the Acting Vice Chairman of the commission, strongly denounced a recent incident at an outlet in Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, involving discrimination against a passenger with a disability.

He emphasized that such discriminatory acts are not only illegal but also inhumane and contrary to societal values.

Dr. Abdullahi affirmed that the FCCPC will vigilantly monitor developments and take appropriate actions as per the provisions of the FCCPC.

He applauded the prompt response of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria in closing down the outlet.

According to him, this incident serves as a stern reminder to all businesses operating in Nigeria that consumer protection laws apply equally to everyone, irrespective of their abilities.
